Help for Today: Study

Text: 2 Timothy 2:15

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” I remember enough from English to know when an action verb starts a sentence, the understood subject is “you.” Therefore, the scripture accurately reads, (You) study to show thyself approved. Don’t you want to know your doctor, your mechanic and your accountant take the time to study? How much more important is it for us to study the word of God, which gives the keys to life and life eternal. We’ve just got to spend time in the word!
